Who it is for
Divisions go by school grade as of fall 2026 rather than age. Miss Elementary America covers preschool through 5th grade. The older pageants cover Junior High (6th to 8th), High School (9th to 11th) and Collegiate (12th grade or enrolled in college), with a maximum age of 28 at nationals.
What is judged
The 2027 state entry form lists Interview at 40 percent, Evening Gown at 40 percent and Fashion Runway at 20 percent for the older divisions. The elementary form lists categories including Fun Fashion and Interview.
How state feeds national
The combined South Carolina and North Carolina state pageant is January 15 to 17, 2027 at Converse University in Spartanburg. Winners go on to nationals in Little Rock, Arkansas. Entry forms list a final deadline of December 2, 2026 and a mandatory ad page fee.
